I just wanted to get my two cents in here. I think that Tim's idea is absolutely brilliant!. I would LOVE to have the central library at Chicago and Lake. This makes so much sense that I can't believe it didn't come up before now. This could be the jewel in our new "Midtown".
Tim is right--there is plenty of parking. Mass transit is available. Can you imagine the views from some of the upper floors?! A coffee shop, a bakery, post office, you name it --this area would become a destination. I would be the first one there and I would even leave my car at home!
