Hello Minneapolis Folks: I would rather have the city, county, and state, focus on the Midtown Greenway then Lake Street. The Greenway when completed will be safer, faster, and just a much more enjoyable ride. I am not opposed to dedicated bicycle lanes.
I would prefer future development either be on east west corridors farther south and north. A dedicated lane on Franklin Ave would be wonderful, which is would connecting Uptown to Seward and the River, and U of M, Augsburg. Light rail development would make 35th, 36th, or even 38th, or 42nd excellent choices. My first choice would be 42nd street because of the lack of commercial development, and from my own experience 42nd seems more bicycle friendly. Just some thoughts....
