I'm not sure why Scott, who admitted that he's never
attended a STRIDE meeting, feels the need to label
STRIDE members as leftist who are against our market
economy. I can speculate that this is an outgrowth of
the project organizers' attempts to marginalize and
demonize those who oppose "the project".

For the record, the hundreds of members of STRIDE are
a very diverse group. There are some very left
leaning members, as well as center and very
conservative members. There are members with MBA's
and PhD's, as well as "punks"!!

It's true that Greens tend to be more proactive on
environmental and quality of life issues than some of
the less left leaning political parties, but that
doesn't make everyone who is concerned about the
environment and quality of life a leftist. You don't
need a particular political leaning to recognize when
big money corporate influence unneccessarily costs the
taxpayers money and community livability.
