I'm curious under what condition could someone or a business petition for the MTC bus stop/shelter to move from one street corner down half a block.
I was walking pass Azia today and noticed that the bus stop / shelter that had been at the corner of 26th and Nicollet infront of the Azia building, was no longer there. Infact it was moved down south half a block. There are many bus shelters right infront of most businesses. Front as in at their front door. I've always thought that such placement isn't the most appropriate due to pedestrian traffic blocking the entry to the business. However, most businesses seem tollerate the bus shelters being in front of their door. How does MTC determine where to put the bus shelters? Does the building owner have a say in the placement of such shelters? As for the shelter that was infront of the Azia restaurant building, I'm glad some one came to realize that it would be better for the business and bus riders to move it down 1/2 a block. -- Thomas T.
