Minneapolis Listmembers:

I invite all of you who are interested in creating a sustainable, peaceful infrastructure to join us tomorrow evening at 7 PM. (Details of time and place included in info below my signature.)

I feel that if we want lasting peace, then we must radically change the way that we live.  We can make immediate, simple yet profound changes to bring peace and environmental justice locally, while contributing to global peace and justice as well.

I believe that he very way we move through the space of our neighborhoods and urban landscape contributes to local violence and global war on the one hand, or to peace and justice on the other.

If you want develop an infrastructure of peace and justice, join us!  If you are committed to living peace and justice into being through your life, come join us as well.

If you have questions, I'd be happy to answer them.

pedaling for peace, through all 4 seasons -- Gary Hoover, King Field
(original invitation below)

Hello to all!

At 7 PM on Tuesday, March 18, friends of the Sustainable Transportation Project will meet at Lyndale UCC, 801 West 31st Street in Minneapolis. (LUCC is at the corner of Aldrich Avenue South and 31st Street, one block SW of the Lyn-Lake intersection).

The following items are on the agenda:

Incorporation: a list of "incorporators" or founding board members
Bylaws
Annual Meeting
Information about fiscal agency with the Green Institute
Fundraising event and grassroots fundraising strategies

As I write this note, I wonder what the next few days will bring. As I rode my cargo trike to and from a job today, two or three people I know in south Minneapolis passed me in their cars, smiling and waving. I returned the waves and encouraging greetings of three or four or more people walking, biking, or driving who I don't even know.
I heartily greeted one child (maybe 8 years old?) who got off of a schoolbus on 40th at about Harriet Avenue who grinned a huge grin, and simply said "Wow!" as I rode by.

Let's remember that our small, local grassroots efforts are a part of a worldwide miracle -- a growing movement of people for peace and sustainability. Amidst the gloom and doom of war-mongering, there are countless people like you and me working for peace and justice. As long as I can still pedal along and wave to friends, friendly strangers, and children in my neighborhood, I will do so as a way of living peace and justice into the world right here and right now.

During these troubled and chaotic times, let's all work together at the grassroots level for a peaceful and sustainable future! I encourage you to join us at our next meeting.

Please do let me know if you intend to attend, and also please let me know of any questions you may have.

Prayerfully Pedaling & Peddling Peace -- Gary Hoover
