After all, ancient Assyrian culture, as well as modern Iraqis, is also threatened by the war. I have little sympathy for the drunken yahoos who yell "Bomb Iraq" on my street at 1:00 in the morning, or the business types at the table next to me during lunch who were watching the stock market and making bets on the destruction, while drinking beers (at lunch!) and laughing. When the price tag for this war comes through, no lattes for any of us. Plenty of beers, though.
