Ethics complaints, hearings, and associated hand-wringing -- so tedious and
predictable, and to what end? Is there reason to expect a change in Rep.
Lindner's hard-wiring?

Let's be a bit more creative and help out on the budget deficit as well.
Alongside the State Bird and the State Flower, why not legislation
designating Rep. Lindner as the State Ignoramus? With Mr. Lindner, his
hometown, etc. as additional tourist points of interest, as well as
state-licensed manufacturing of figurines and other collectibles, we'd
surely see a bump in revenues into state coffers.

Accountable or punished? In what way does someone have
to be accountable for constitutionally protected speech?
Should antiwar protesters be held accountable for their
views? Should Gay activists be held accountable for
their impact on "family values"? From whose perspective
do we determine accountability? There's a reason that
the Supreme Court has repeated struck down speech codes.
