As far as the slogan about stopping at just one lrt line, that's about waste of taxpayer funds, not about whether any given private enterprise fits in with a neighborhood. Let's see, there is a Cub at 60th and Nicollet and a Rainbow at 66th. Is that too many? He talks about razing homes. I was under the impression that the land being discussed was under the mini-mall. If I'm wrong, please enlighten me. Does the Cub proposal require razing homes? Jon Gorder suggests bringing back Sid. The last time Sid made a grocery comeback was at Sibley Plaza. It lasted a few years and closed abruptly with no warning. There's now a Cooper's Super Valu there, the one that the folks across the street can't afford to make their primary grocery, as was probably the situation with Sid's. Cooper's took over a couple of years ago, after the store sat vacant for months.
