This morning's Strib story about the legislature's adjournment was confusing about which Minneapolis bonding projects passed:
http://www.startribune.com/stories/587/3909449.html "The bill gives many other state entities a sizable piece of the pie. "The Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System (MnSCU) would receive $59.7 million and the DNR $10.7 million, and $29.8 million would go toward projects for trade and economic development. "The largest single line item in the bill also was one of the most controversial -- $25 million for the Guthrie Theater. That, plus the $5 million for the Minneapolis Children's Theatre, proved too much for a number of House Republicans, who had argued for days that the arts should not be funded at a time of severe budget cuts. Minneapolis' DFL delegation pushed for $3 million for the Minneapolis Planetarium and for a $2 million 'empowerment zone.'" It seems pretty clear the Guthrie money was approved. Earlier reports indicated the Children's Theater cash was in there. But the story leaves me a bit confused about Planetarium and Empowerment $$ - I thought they were out. Can anyone tell me (and the list) for sure if they passed or were left out? Thanks, David Brauer King Field TEMPORARY REMINDER: 1. Don't feed the troll! Ignore obvious flame-bait. 2.
