Jim Mork writes:

"Her allegations SEEM to be the basis of
fraud prosecutions. She goes so far as to claim
that certain developers have lied to the
government to collect funds for which they are
not entitled."

Vicky answers:

It's not that easy to prosecute Jim, because when governmental
entities are involved, frauds are called "mistakes."

Chris Johnson wrote:

"Despite our tax code being still full of all kinds of preferential
loopholes for clever wealthy individuals and corporations, this
particular one was so egregious that Congress finally did away with
it."

Vicky responds:

No, they just replaced it with several other opportunities including
IRS Section 42 tax credits. Why don't you ask a few of your favorite
local developers how much they paid in taxes last year. And thanks
for proving my point. Last week Chris, you denied the obvious.....
If government wants more of something, they subsidize it,
If government wants less of something, they tax it.

Chris Johnson wrote:

"Cedar Sqaure West was full of questionable, deceptive, ethically and
legally questionable manuevers from planning to building to selling to
foreclosure. "

Vicky responds:

If you know something that I don't - I'd really love to find out about
it. I've got most of the articles preserved in hard-bound books and I
haven't seen such accusations.

Chris Johnson wrote:

"Make up your mind. Which is it? First you say you lost control in
1982, the property is about 30 years old, and you were only married to
Keith for 3 years. Then you say "over these past thirty years, OUR
companies paid" -- so, either you were involved for only a few years,
or
it was 30 years, or do we split the difference?"

Vicky responds:

The partnerships were formed in the late 60s, they still exist, they
still pay Minneapolis taxes, and I still run them. Could you repeat
the question? I don't understand what you're asking.

"Though appearing to be a Republican, I do recall she has supported po
liticians from the Green Party and even some Democrats. Dean
Zimmerman and RT Rybak are two that come to mind."

Vicky adds: ....and Natalie Johnson-Lee, Paul Zerby, Cam Gordon, Mark
Stenglein. Yep, they all got the maximum contribution from me. Hard
to explain isn't it. Actually, I used to be a Democrat - but then I
learned arithmetic. I was a big fund raiser for Wendell Anderson, and
I was Senator Steve Keefe's treasurer. Go figure. I'm just a sucker
for honest people.

Jim Graham wrote:

"But because Vicki has been successful in her own right, and because
she lives in a "gated" community, she is attacked."

Vicky concludes:

The rumors of my wealth have been vastly exaggerated. Your
imaginations are running wild -- I wish I had 1/10th of what you guys
think I have. And North Oaks is NOT a gated community -- the gates
were gone long before I arrived.

Just so you know, I bought my FIRST and ONLY house in 1998, at the age
of 49. I paid $275,000 for it. I'm not kidding, it really is cheaper
to live here than in Minneapolis. And there are no gunshots - just
some entertaining domestic squabbles -- sort of like the Minneapolis
Forum.
