Hello Commissioner Young -
Ive checked with Hennepin County to see if they offer compost but they do not. They refer people to private facilities like the one on Malcolm St. As for woodchips, we still have 16 neighborhood sites that are seen on the attached document. These sites are listed on our website and the city website. Most are empty right now because we have been planting trees and therefore not producing woodchips. A supply currently exists at Columbia Park. As we begin condemning diseased elms we will generating plenty of chips and the sites will be restocked. The good news is that we have created quite a demand for woodchips which continues to save on the cost of paid recycling. I hope this helps..............Ralph Sievert
