In response to issues raised by list members living in crime saturated neighborhoods, I browsed the city police site briefly looking for qualitative indicators of police efforts.
What I have seen are annual reports, uniform crime reports, and CODEFOR reports. Nothing I have seen would enable one to assess the responsiveness of police to troubled neighborhoods. Please point me in the direction of something I may have missed. I see crime categories and tally by neighborhood, but it appears that additional qualititative indicators, made readily available to the public, are needed to validate equal application of law enforcement. I would like to see data, by neighborhood, depicting the number of calls placed, category, response time, and disposition/end-result.
