Another disturbing part of this incident was the refusal by the desk sergeant to take a report from the mother, and initiate appropriate action. If this story is true, the officer involved should be charged with assault! And this Sergeant Young, who refused to accept a report from a citizen, should be questioned about dereliction of duty.

I hope the boy's mother contacts County Attny Amy Klobuchar promptly on Monday morning about filing assault charges.
