We request that bars in residential areas not be permitted to stay open until 2 AM.
We live on a block with 2 bars. When we both bought our homes, (14 & 20 years ago) the bars were quiet, neighborhood bars. Since then, the bars have gone through different owners. The bars are no longer quiet neighborhood establishments. We are currently woken up/kept awake late at night by problems generated by the bars and do not want the noise extended from 1AM to 2AM. Late night bar problems include the following: 1 Loud motorcycles, noisy cars and idly buses coming and going from the bars. Many times motorcycles rev up their motors as they depart from our streets. 2 Bar patrons standing outside and partying as they leave the bar, talking loudly, and in some cases yelling in front of our homes, as they walk down the street to get into their cars. 3. Drunken drivers who have been videotaped stumbling as they walk to their cars, and then driving through stop signs without stopping. We request that bars in residential areas not be permitted to stay open until 2 AM. Sincerely, Michele McGaughey Gary and Janice Wachs Sheridan Neighborhood __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
