Tomorrow night -- Friday, June 13 -- some the nation's the best pro men and women bicylists will be racing in downtown Minneapolis. The center of the action will be Nicollet Mall between 10th and 12th Street. Music and food starts at 5, the women's race begins at 6:45 and the men's race begins at 7:45.
You'll see former Olympians and Tour de France riders. It looks like the weather is going to be absolutely perfect. A really fun Canadian band called the Clumsy Lovers will be playing at Peavey Plaza while the race zooms around it. The Mall and the course look absolutely wonderful... It will be the perfect night to stroll downtown, go to a street cafe, watch the bike race, listen to a fun band, and generally think to yourself....it's nights like this that make me love living in Minneapolis! For more information, see the insert in this week's Skyway News, or go to the website at www.minnbikefestival.com. Or contact me directly. Again, the center of the action will be Peavey Plaza at 12th and Nicollet. So if you drive consider parking at the Orchestra Hall Ramp or someplace nearby. So I hope you "Allez! Allez! Allez!" (as they scream at bike races in France, which means Go, Go, Go!) Dave Harstad Assistant Race Director, Minneapolis Downtown Classic Whittier __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
