Attention all list members!
If anyone out there is looking for a challenge and a chance to make a real
change in our city, the Jordan Area Community Council is looking for a new
director. We need someone with experience organizing neighborhood
volunteers, fund raising, and running a non-profit organization. It's a
one person job at the moment, paying $35-$40,000 depending upon
experience. We hope to hire additional staff, but the new director
will have to find the funds for that. Housing and economic
development are big issues in our neighborhood so experience and /or an interest
in that is also necessary.
Jordan is at an interesting point. Life here, despite some of my
complaints, is really getting better. We are getting more and more new
neighbors moving in and the old neighbors are getting involved again, so the
director will be getting alot of volunteer help. But we really need
someone who can organize and keep tabs on our efforts. We
also need someone who can find funds for us now that NRP is gone, at least
momentarily. If anyone on the list is interested, or knows someone
