I'm shocked! Shocked! Peter Schmitz tells Brother James Graham right
here on this list that the law enforcement problem in Ventura Village
(and for that matter the rest of Phillips) is caused by the city's
unacknowledged practice of using these neighorhoods as "crime
containment zones". Had Peter been listening, he'd know James has
been saying as much for years. The great wonder is that the two of
them should occupy common ground on any issue, let alone one of this
magnitude. It's rather like observing the human equivalent of
table-top hydrogen fusion. Interesting... but will they respect each
other in the morning?
