City of Minneapolis and Park Board begin storm debris collection
Get debris to the boulevard this weekend!

City Public Works crews will be collecting large debris from Tuesdays storm beginning July 7th. Special collections will occur in the Southwest corner of the city, where most property damage occurred.
Heres how residents can prepare trees and other storm debris for collection:
       Branches under 3 inches in diameter can be bundled and set out for weekly yard waste collection. Call 673-2917 for more information.
       Move larger limbs, branches and trunks to the boulevard area in front of your house. The City will pick up and dispose of these items at no charge. This service will begin Monday. Please have debris in boulevards no later than July 7th.
       Property owners outside of the Southwest corner are asked to call Public Works Street Maintenance, 673-5720 for City assistance with debris removal.
       Before cleaning trees and debris make sure there are no downed power lines. Residents can contact Xcel Energy, 1-800-895-1999 to report damaged power lines.
The Minneapolis Park board will remove damaged trees that were planted on your boulevard. Contact the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board Forestry Office at 370-4900 with questions about tree removal or replacement.

 Residents are encouraged to report damage:
n       For downed trees or branches blocking streets, alleys, boulevards or sidewalks, call Street Maintenance at 612-673-5720 (answered 24-hours-a-day);
n       For non-functioning traffic signals or street lights, 673-5750 (folks can leave a voice mail if it's after business hours).
n       For information on disposal of debris from flooded basements, call 673-2917.
Information about how to report problems is also available at the Citys Website:
