It was meant as the highest form of compliment for Anne. And yes Anne, it
is certainly more fun when tea-kill-ya is involved. Tea-kill-ya is a venial
sin for me. Of course under its influence the "S" sometimes pops out on my
chest and I just might consider "Mortal" sin.

I also enjoyed Anne's mention of the 70 or so nations represented on most
blocks in Phillips. It is possible to be a racist in Phillips and Ventura
Village, but not an easy existence. A person of color once mentioned that
after hearing someone make an accusation of racism. The Black lady looked
kinda funny then said, "Why on earth would a racist want to live here? No
matter who you don't like there is someone just like that right next door."
She was so right! It is what makes us a neat, rich place to live.

The cross culture in our neighborhood is amazing sometimes. Like the
argument I had recently with a Black friend from down south about lutefisk.
He loves this nasty Norwegian rotten fish. Learning to like and enjoy
lutefisk is taking cross culture just a little to far for my taste. It
shares some of the quality of baluits for me. The idea of desiring to eat
rotten fish pickled in lye is something it is very difficult for me to
understand. But hey, that is what is cool. Even if you don't like some
thing, Yah got a choice! Rich texture with many threads is what is woven
into the fabric of our community. While we might rub each other the wrong
way OR the right way occasionally (like Anne and me), it is that friction
that creates the spark of creativity.

Annie says:
I have a problem being lumped into the same sentence or thoughts with Wizard
(I'm sure she feels the same about me) but other than that - Mr. Graham, I
don't know whether to take this as a compliment or a slam. But let me turn
it around - going head to head with you is no picnic either or can be a
blast (especially if tequila is involved).
None of this really needs lots of debate or e-mail inbox filler but it is a
valid point.
And for the sake of being sane I will take your words as a compliment.
Everyone loves a challenge.

TEMPORARY REMINDER:
1. Don't feed the troll! Ignore obvious flame-bait.
2. If you don't like what's being discussed here, don't complain - change the subject
(Mpls-specific, of course.)
