Maybe, once we daylight Bassett Creek (and I hope I live to see it) we
can turn our attention to Bridal Veil and other smaller creeks that may
be out there.

Does anyone know of others?

Last year, The Green Institute completed redevelopment recommendations
for the Humboldt Industrial Area in North Minneapolis. My part of the
plan included stormwater management recommendations. In my survey of
the site, I discovered Ryan Creek. Ryan Creek drains Twin Lakes into
Shingle Creek. A small portion of the creek is above ground, but most
of the length of the creek runs through the storm sewer. If you stand
on 49th Avenue at Sheridan and look to the South, you should be able to
see Ryan Creek as it enters the storm sewer.

I am not familiar with the original configuration of Ryan Creek, but it
seems to me that rerouting the creek above ground right through the
middle of the Humboldt Industrial Area to meet up with Shingle Creek at
approximately 47th Avenue would have multiple benefits:

*Existing wetland areas would be connected.

*Multiple stormwater management challenges in the area could be
addressed.

*Stormwater running off the industrial area would have the opportunity
to filter through green space before entering the creek.

*Water quality in Shingle Creek would be improved.
