I finally did it. I left there with no leftover tickets! Isn't that supposed to be
impossible?
Although it was rather warm standing in front of king sized grills and smokers on
asphalt this afternoon,
it was worth the trip.
  Here's today's lunchtime/afternoon snack report. (All sampled by yours truly.)
Rated on a scale from 1-5 bones
Butch's Smack your Lips BBQ: pulled pork sandwich w/med. "Pyro Sauce"
Pretty darn good for a NJ outfit. Meat was cooked just right, good sauce.The real
deal. Rating=4 bones.
  Sutphens from Texas: Only one thing to order from a Texas outfit, so the choice was
an easy one.
Chopped Brisket sandwich. Oh my! Just the right mix of burnt ends and fat in meat as
tender as I've ever
had. Chipotle Q sauce with just enough kick to put a sweat on your brow. Rating=5
bones. 4 for the food,
and 1 just for bringing brisket to MN.
Mojo's-southern Ohio: Pulled pork sandwich. Nice juicy tender meat. Mellow smoke
flavor. Sauce was pretty
ordinary. Snuck down to Butch's for a few glops of the Pyro. Rating=3 1/2 bones
Johnson's of Norfolk VA: McRibs. On a bun. They call it their boneless rib sandwich.I
call it animal
abuse. Unbe*&%!*lievable. They, and anyone else trying to pass this abomination off as
BBQ should be
forever banned from holding a restaurant license. I thought Famous Dave had nerve, but
that... well THAT
takes a special brand of guts.
I didn't even think about trying their pork sandwich.
Rating=Boneless
North Carolina BBQ Co.: NC is a place where Q is only one thing,if not a whole hog,
and that is pork
shoulder, but this ain't the one. Minced well,but bland (I tasted no evidence of live
coals ever being
near the stuff) and left in a steam table with the cover on too long. Watery.
Rating=2 bones
So there you have it. Go. Eat. It's overpriced, but still cheaper than traveling to
all those places.

1. Don't feed the troll! Ignore obvious flame-bait.
2. If you don't like what's being discussed here, don't complain - change the subject
