Concerns about the developments environment extend far beyond the water in a pond The North Sides days as industrial corridor In the first half of the 20th Century, much of North Minneapolis was largely a commercial and industrial corridor. Population demands had not yet made it necessary for the area to take residential concerns much into consideration; that was to come later, when North Minneapolis expanded and became home to large concentrations of low-income people and people of color. During North Minneapolis commercial/ industrial phase, it was home to such businesses as Warden Oil, Chemical Marketing Corporation, and Docs Auto. Those companies and others have come and gone, but they left a legacy that is still felt in the area. http://www.spokesman-recorder.com/news/default.asp Posted by Shawn Lewis, Field Neighborhood -- __________________________________________________________ Sign-up for your own FREE Personalized E-mail at Mail.com http://www.mail.com/?sr=signup CareerBuilder.com has over 400,000 jobs.
