Dear Kurtis,
I am not angry I am tired of whining and throwing money instead of values at
people. I never married my son's Father. He had "issues", and now he is
dead. Folks that have never worked, have never finished school, and raise
children in poverty need a hell of a lot more than a cheap place to live. I
think supportive, group housing with on site day care would be a wonderful
solution. All (able bodied) adults would be required to take the steps to
improve their lives for their children. I work with many cultures,
languages and income levels. I treat them as I would my own family. No
evictions in 66 units for 10 years, rarely a police call, and no domestic
violence. On site management is helpful when working with the poor. Their
issues are financial, emotional, cultural etc.....
I know that the solutions that the social service institutions are still
using have not worked. Remember I have done this for 15 years and live on
the West Bank, but I am afraid it won't be for much longer, I am also tired
of crime.
