I think the silence from Peter McLaughlin says it all. Peter has been accused of a lot of things over time, and among those accusations is that he "made a deal" with Allina and Wells Fargo for the Access Project. Some people speculate that Peter's part of the deal was to provide public money, though it harms the neighborhood, to expand the freeway and add ramps for Allina and WF, in exchange he would get their financial support in the next election. Though there are credible folks who have attested the existence of this "deal", McLaughlin denied it on this list.
Now, Peter is suddenly seen supporting Basim Sabri, who is accused of multiple counts of bribery of public officials. Is anyone suprised?? As my mom used to say, you are the company that you keep! Tom Welling CARAG Jim Graham wrote: Both Ed Felien and Peter McLaughlin were not shy about writing to the "List" when they ran for office. They answered personally when they felt slighted while running against each other, so I expect them to each answer personally what many might consider slanderous charges. David Piehl writes: I'm hoping for an explanation as well, and the sooner the better. Peter Schmitz Responded: Don't hold your breath, guys. It's been a little over two weeks since David Brauer posed some very even-handed questions to Mayor Rybak regarding CPED reforms and appointments. Ed Felien and Peter McLaughlin have probably figured it out that they don't have to be any more accountable to the public than City Hall has been. _______________________________________________ Express Yourself - Share Your Mood in Emails!
