I totally agree. My mother is 82, has lived in the family homestead since
she married my father. Both were WWII vets and both worked hard all their
lives. Now dad is dead, and mom lives on her Social Security and a small
nest egg. If it weren't for the fact that her house is paid for, she would
not be able to live independently. If she sold the house, the proceeds
would soon be used up in paying rent on a decent apartment. Then what???
Of course, like many other seniors, she probably wouldn't live very long.

If a person has worked hard all their lives to try and obtain some security
in their old age, what gives Mr Anderson and same thinking persons the right
to take it all away with taxes. You had better have children who are hard
working and love you very much. You may need them in your later years.

By the way, there was a time when a person's property taxes on their
homestead could not be increased after they hit 65. I think this changed in
the late 60' or early 70's.
