Master Engineering is doing a development at the corner of Franklin and Nicollet that will have retail at street level and condominiums above it. They are also doing a larger development at the corner of 26th and Nicollet at the site of the old Crossroads (formerly Artist Quarters site) This development also includes the current parking lot at the corner of 26th and Nicollet. There will be an arch over the alley between the two lots that stretch between 1st Av. So. and Nicollet at 26th St. This will be a 4 story building with loft condominiums on 3 levels. I believe the top level will also have some limited garden patio space and perhaps. The drawings look great. It will definately change the face of Nicollet Avenue at 26th St. The surrounding business owners and residents are very encouraged that there will finally be something positive at this corner. The site of the old dispatch laundry that is currently a graveled parking area at 26th and Stevens is also scheduled to have a housing development. Not sure what that entails. I missed those presentations. For more information on all of these exciting projects contact Suzi Kim at the Whittier Alliance at 871-7756 or Don Gerberding at Master Engineering.
