tI have been the silent lurker on this incareration - industrial prison complex industry that has encompassed our lives. But I do recall hearing about the Boot Camp approach being used in Wisconsin and wonder how it worked. (Anybody out there know. I always thought this might be a great solution and would at list give the offenders abit of manners and decorum. Like getting up at some ungodly hour of the morning, making your bed, polish your shoes and march uniformly to the orders of your drill sergeant. Now many of us assume and know that this is not a pretty picture for anyone those first few days or weeks but the old theory worked for many, taught a few manners and gave folks an education besides. And just think the weeks spent on "gun" training could be shortened since many of them already know that part. :-)
Anyway, I believe this truly might be one of the answers.
Wonder how much it costs in the bigger scheme of this industrial complex?

How about sending offenders to the military? I think that's a better way
of giving back to society rather than sitting in prison or corporal
punishment at the public place.
