Of course people can not like the piece. That's not the issue.
But the "heat in this kitchen" started with certain critics, who have
criticized the choices and facts in the piece. That's ok. I've tried to
ignore the needless provocations ("Fantasy" Island), and explain/defend our
choices and note context that critics overlooked.
That's why this topic was on a discussion list in the first place.
I've been the one seeking comment and extended debate. It's a sad fact that
you have to wade through needless vitriol when you seek such comment here -
but I enjoy our open society so much that it's a small price to pay.
I really do want to hear from any others who have an opinion. Probably
off-list at this point.
