YES, Mosley Braun, Sharpton and Kucinich do have much, much less name
recognition than Edwards, Dean, and Kerrey in national polls!

Moreover, they have never been more than either an asterisk or "<1%" in
any national poll. Even in their home states, the candidacies of Mosley
Braun (Illinois), Sharpton (New York, and Kucinich (Ohio)are barely
register any support.

The STAR TRIBUNE - like many other newspapers - covered the candidates
who have made some impact to date or have already established themselves
as credible candidates. Fact is, Mosley Braun, Sharpton, and Kucinich
are merely "the rest of the field" for the Democratic nomination and did
not merit separate stories.

Times?, Double Standard, Restorative Justice--Reality Check

Is the Startribune still the Johannesburg Times?

Yes.

In addition the August 16th story regarding Natalie Lee Johnson's
traffic
citation, which appeared on the front page of the Metro Section while an
article about alleged evidence tampering by the City Attorney's office
appeared two pages later (with no photos, mind you), consider how our
local paper has been covering the presidential race so far.

Liebermann, Dean, Edwards, Graham, Kerrey, Gephardt all got a separate
article/profile devoted to their careers and campaigns on six
consecutive
Sundays, while the most progressive candidate, Dennis Kucinich, and the
only two African American candidates, Al Sharpton and Carol Mosely
Braun,
shared the last profile of the series.

What was the rationale for this?

Can you really tell me that Sharpton and Mosely Braun have less name
recognition than Edwards, Dean and Kerrey?

Further evidence that the Minneapolis Star Tribune, has its own
political
agenda and doesn't care about serving or adequately informing the
citizens of Minneapolis.--------------------Peter Schmitz CARAG
