What do you mean by a budget cut? Did the Minneapolis School District get less than what they asked for or less than what they got the year before? Just last year the district complained that it had suffered from a couple years of budget cutting, although their revenues had actually increased from year to year despite declining enrollment. Statements to the Star Tribune by the superintendent and board members misrepresented the real situation. Money was being cut for transportation, teaching staff and so forth while a lot of money was added to other parts of the budget, including the superintendent's pay package.
