Molly Quinn's rents their building and the city inspectors cited the kitchen for mechanical and structural repairs. The landlord wasn't up for fixing them and it wasn't for them to have to fix so they could no longer serve many of the items on their menu. Actually their food was never the greatest but passable. Most people went there for the neighborhood ambience, the marvelous patio and great music on many nights. When it appeared they were going to close I heard that they were moving into the street level of the new Landner building down by the River and theLake Street Bridge until it burned down and they needed to find their new home and get on with the move.
So where are they moving?

It must be Governor Pawlenty's fault.

Not unless he's been moonlighting as the cook there!
Because the quality of the food has gone way down there, in my opinion. And I've heard a lot of people say similar things about Molly Quinn's.
Given all the places to eat around here that serve really good food, I'm not surprised that the ones with bad food are closing. And I'm not disappointed, either.
