I was in the same state of wonder when I received
notice that all the curbs, gutters and sidewalk
corners were going to be redone around my block.  (And
the adjacent blocks, but I'm not sure how far down.) 
This project, according to the mailing I got, will
cost $4M and some change.  The property owners are
being assessed for some of it, but it doesn't seem
enough to be the whole thing.  

Aside from the fact that our gutters, curbs and
sidewalk corners seemed just fine to me in the first
place, and also that the ENTIRE intersection of 22nd
and 16th was ripped to bits with no thought of parking
and no accommodations made for the wheelchair bound,
(they are back to the middle of the street again, just
like when the city neglects to shovel in front of
their MCDA-owned vacant lots,) I really wasn't sure
why this was a reasonable thing to do given the
current economic state we're in.

What to do?
