Doug Grow writes a good piece about the Parkway Theatre today (that almost makes me forgive him for the egregious tripe he wrote last week regarding the NAACP).
Alas, this neighborhood theatre may be the victim of market forces and indifference from City Hall as well as its own neighborhood. However, the men's bathroom is nearly unusable and a woman I work with says the women's bathroom is in terrible shape as well. And I notice that the screen is in rough shape. I hope the owner considers a funderaiser to restore the building, because I know the older I get the more difficult it is for me not to use restroom facitilites. And it'd be another asset to the city if the Parkway could be restored to its original splendor! BTW, Does anyone know what's happened to the Suburban World in Uptown (which sits empty just three years after major restoration)?------------------Peter Schmitz CARAG REMINDERS: 1.
