In an attempt to further the proposed Lake Street Freeway agenda, Smith Parker representatives today responded to local small business' concerns about losing on-street parking with a study that claims on-street parking is underutilized, thus can easily be eliminated.
Huh?? This Kafka-esque process just keeps getting more and more grotesque (in the literary sense) all the time! I heard from a participant of the Lake Street PAC that by the end of today's meeting, there was chaos. Can any list member elaborate? The "government by consultants" mentality really needs to pay attention and see why it just isn't feasible to privatize a public participation process - it produced the wreck that is the Access Project, and now proposes to make as much of a freeway out of Lake Street as possible. David Piehl Central P.S. STRIDE recently added a great deal of Lake Street information to their website at www.stride-mn.org __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? The New Yahoo!
