In a previous post regarding the Redistricting
Lawsuit, it was mentioned that the City seems to be
prepared to hire a legal firm to take this issue to
court.

Two questions came to mind-

1. Why wouldn't the City's "inhouse" legal team have
the capacity to review this case?

2.  Are there any procedures or restrictions in place
for the City to follow when an outside firm(for
consulting, legal etc.)is considered for a job.

I would be very curious to see the justification from
a policy standpoint to start this process by throwing
money at the case before all avenues of out of court
resolutions were exhausted.
