There's been a lot of talk on the list about adding Wi-Fi capacity through the Minneapolis Parks Board. Here's an interesting article regarding a school district that is using the technology now.

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - A pioneering elementary school district outside Chicago has been sued for installing a wireless (news - web sites) computer network by parents worried that exposure to the network's radio waves could harm their children.

The planned wireless network in Loring Park would be implemented for outdoor use, with the site antenna being a distance from the notebook computer. This would not prevent someone from accessing the network from an indoor space adjacent to the park, provided there is sufficient signal strength.

It appears the Illinois complaint addresses, specifically, wireless networks within buildings (access point, antenna, and notebook computer).
