Economics
Of course, business takes peoples money. If it didnt, it would go broke. The REASON business takes money is that it will never do ANYTHING without receiving it. Of course, the source of the statement that business doesnt take anyones money thinks that all taxes are compelled payments. OK, then explain the Bush tax cuts. If government COMPELLED payment, it would simply take and never give back (as in recent rebates) or cut its collections (as in the recent tax cuts). No, just as I said, the money is collected once a COLLECTIVE decision is made on who is going to govern, and then that person makes policies that require the spending of the funds of the people that chose the government. Just as I decide to buy a car and then am FORCED to pay as a result of that individual decision, if I decide that someone will govern who wants to build more ships or missile defenses, or whatever, I am forced to pay for THAT.

As for the moral superiority, you could argue that, but I didnt. So introducing that was a straw man. And is the real agenda behind the bogus argument that ONLY government compels us to render funds. Anytime we want ANYTHING, except maybe a free meal at the mission, we are COMPELLED by our decision to hand over funds. The DIFFERENCE is the individual versus collective decision. Without collective decisions, we would simply live in anarchy. Business doesnt want anarchy. It wants order that is paid for by others as much as possible.

By the way. If a list correspondent moves from one city to another, they do NOT move from a place that collects money coercively to one that collects it voluntarily. If it is a civilized place, what changes is the composition of the majority and the minority. There isn't a place with normal services that allows an individual veto on public policy. So, the rules are the same, no matter where you live. All you can really do is find a place where the majority agrees with you. And it is likely you cannot earn a LIVING there. You will have to earn your living where the majority differs with you. Such as in Minneapolis or St Paul. (I researched this earlier and found that the overwhelming majority of Fridley residents did NOT work there. I suspect in wealthier suburbs, the ratio is even more adverse.

Unrelated tenants
Sure people require shelter. But they DONT need to have it in a decent neighborhood where people know how to respect each others rights. In any case, it isnt being unrelated that makes people into the bane of their neighbors. The law that limits unrelated people in how they can live is picking on the wrong fall guy.
