Bill English says the opposition to Jennings is about qualifications, qualifications, and qualifications.
Some of us who opposed the appointment of Jennings also opposed the appointment of Carol Johnson, and for exactly the same reason: There was not a search process that included open meetings for public input. And we are tired of business as usual at 807 NE Broadway. Race is a big factor for some, as in "How dare you criticize our black superintendent!" Johnson and all the board members say that Jennings is qualified. He's been Johnson's full-time, right hand man for two years. And he's got political savvy that doesn't quit. So how is Jennings not qualified? If I was pleased about how the district was being run under Johnson, I wouldn't have a problem with considering Jennings for the job. ------------------------------ HOLLMAN CONSENT DECREE The text of an Email to the new NAACP branch prez, Brett Buckner re: The perils of doing an end run around the NAACP membership in the matter of Hollman v.
