I read that what is good for teachers is NOT necessarily good for educational achievement. Well..........isn't that SPECIAL. I guess that explains the Republican approach to public education as nothing else can. So by browbeating teachers, we're actually HELPING education. To the point where we get a REPUBLICAN who ISN'T a teacher to be the HEAD of all of them. Well, that's certainly the kind of thinking that's running the country right now. Or is it really "thinking"? Well, anyway, we've got multiple escalating messes, and the notion that what is good for workers cannot be good for society is a key dogma behind it all. But the POINT again as missed (is there an echo in here?) The POINT is that the list the NEA would provide would be TRAINED EDUCATORS, not political HACKS. And it wouldnt take and "search" costing tens of thousands of scarce dollars. Ergo, it is a TOTAL red herring to drag out the "cost of a searrch". Yeh, a lot of dumb people in private industry do such things (it is ONLY the stockholders money, SPEND IT). And then public boards, wanting to be LOVED, go and do similarly stupid things. But at no point is it necessity driving it, it is the stupid idea that money does a better job than common sense.
MPD Chief
I'd like someone to tell me ONE thing Jennings has done to make MPS better. I think you are all making glib assumptions, but in reality ALL you know is that he wore a title. On top of that, he wore a title in a district that most of CONSERVATIVES say was FAILING. Gosh, not such a good thing to wear a title in a failing organization, now, is it? Could we get a shred of rigorous thinking here? I'm starting to sense that higher education is a failure, too.
African American Students
Yes, Wizard Marks, lets give EVERY African American kid a Blake education. Al Franken got one, and today he makes MILLIONS mocking idiots like Rush Limbaugh. I would like that for every African American student (can't have enough satirists of Franken's kind).
