POINT OF INFORMATION: Wizard Marks wrote "At the same time, those other

basis that he was white." This is not true.

That was hyperbole, admittedly, and unfair, but was not intentionally race-baiting. However, there were those every bit as knee jerk as Moss, Staten, and English championing Mr. Jennings. I would, of course, absent Lynnell Mickelson from such a list; her Strib piece was my best read today so far and I expect it to remain so. (Good show, Lynnell! Mistressly writing.) I would absent others as well.

Again speaking for myself, I believe the Minneapolis School Board chose
wisely when it asked Dave Jennings to be the new superintendent; ...

WM: For myself, I don't know whether it was wise or foolish since I have no knowledge of Jennings. My complaint about him as a choice was that there was no interaction with the community and, since I don't know Jennings, no credentials. Though I don't think something like a Ph.D. is required of the superintendent, I will remain steadfast in saying the man is not educated about education or managing schools, nor does he have the experience I think is required to be superintendent.
His color, per se, means squat to me. What I need to know is this: can this man listen to people of color with his good ear? He doesn't have that much experience with people of color and it was my experience that learning to hear with my good ear took lots of time and intention.

.... Thankfully, that is only a handful of people!

WM: We will have to part company here, Mr. Bernstein, I'm certain in my bones that it was the contributing factor in many and many a heart.
