Did you expect Peter to openly admit his alleged role in supressing free speach 
because it critisizes his judgment regarding the Access Project??  If I were betting, 
I'd say odds are solid that Smith Parker was in on the supression, it's not the first 
time.  McLaughlin probably knew about it but wasn't directly involved.
