In addition to endorsing Mr. Sumner's comments regarding the Non-partisan

cordial and persuasive policy discussions overheard or I participated in.
Not to imply anyone switched parties as a result of these exchanges, rather
a general interest on the part of the attendees to gather opinions. Perhaps
more subtle, yet equally important, was the opportunity to learn about
individuals occupations and interests aside from their urges toward public
service. As an example are the excellent keyboard skills of Bert Black, who
plays every Thursday night at the Hexagon Bar (no cover), 26th Street and
27th Ave S, Mpls, from 9:30 pm -1 am. Finally, I must thank Brian Melendez
for his forward thinking and initiative in bringing this event to fruition.
Perhaps the Melendez Model can be used equally as successful at other levels
of government.

It was an excellent party. Politicians sited: Paul Ostrow, Dean Zimmerperson, Annie Young, Robert Lilligren, Linda Higgins, Phyllis Kahn.

Would be Politician: Valdis Rosenthal and his campaign for State Representative were out and visible. According to Brian Melendez there might be some intraparty opposition to incumbent Len Biernat. I asked if that had to do with Joe Biernat, and he thought that was not the issue.

Thanks to Brian Melendez for hosting this - and thanks to all the people who came who provided some great conversation.

Some were surprised that RT Rybak wasn't at the party. His assistant, Laura Sether was there and talking to lots of people.

Brian Melendez not only has great taste with houses, he has great taste in cats. His cat is a lovely and very friendly animal.
