.          All during the campaign, the candidates, and 
indeed all voters, fully expected the lawful winners to 
fulfill 4 year terms. It seems to me that to force 
a duly elected official to submit to a new election, 
prior to the end of the agreed-upon term period, very 
greatly disadvantages that particular official. It is 
certainly not undue 'protection' to simply allow a 
legally elected official to fulfill their expected term, 
without being subjected to an additional surprise 
election.
