Regarding Jeff Carlson's participation in the Lake
Street PAC, Wizard Marks stated:

"It's fairly difficult not to dismiss folks who state
their opinion by singing songs of their own devising
at 8 o'clock in the morning. That "performance" told
me that Carlson, at least, came to the PAC to clown."

David Piehl writes:

Another take on Jeff's song is that he is passionate
about the subject, and chose to engage his musical
talents to express his passion for a safer, pedestrian
oriented Lake Street that would support the mostly
immigrant owned businesses that are there. It
disheartening when people so easily write off
different forms of expression as "clowning".

Wizard also wrote:
This project is and was from the git-go very
limited

David Piehl writes:
Agreed; however, I believe there is enough desire in
the area to explore alternatives to the existing
1950's transportation vision that it makes sense to at
least not make additional investments in the old
vision. In addition to the fact that the Lake Street
process has been stymied by Smith Parker's
involvement, Minneapolis and Minnesota are
self-described "progressives" - that means it takes
them at least 20 years to notice what other cities,
states, and countries are doing. I think we have about
10 more years before Minnesota and Minneapolis get to
par on transit.
