This article, like Peterson's 36W article, is pretty one-sided. He apparently made no attempt to talk to PAC members who agreed with the project.
Issac Peterson III is looking at the Lake Street PAC situation with a critical eye based on his own observations--the print copy lists his article as a "news analysis." You may not agree with him--but to accuse him of bias (and I count calling the article "pretty one-sided" as making such an accusation) is senseless.
Lest people who haven't read the article get the wrong impression from Wizard Mark's post, they should know that Tom Johnson, manager of the project, gets ample space to respond to the opinions expressed by the disgruntled members of the PAC--although Wizard Marks, as a PAC member who agrees with the project, is not quoted.
In my opinion, Peterson's article is pretty mild and is painstaking in its efforts to present differing opinions.
Lord knows that there were some outraged people after that November 18 PAC meeting. Some (my allies--granted) would tell you that that "public" process was deftly managed by the county and Smith-Parker to an outcome that was predetermined to complement the 35W Access project and an auto-dominated vision of the future.
A few of those folks get to voice their legitimate concerns in Peterson's article, concerns that have been systematically stymied in the PAC process. Tom Johnson gets a chance to answer them. . . .
You can always read the article yourself. . . . Don't take my, or Wizard's, word for it.
