Add - Auriga (19xx Hennepin) among the ranks. It is a
chef owned restraunt serving local and organic food.

I imagine that before the 1940's most of Minneapolis'
restaurants would have been providers of local/organic
produce and considered merely serving "normal" food.

But, I must concur with previous posts re. Lenny
Russo. His place the Heartland in St. Paul is truly
an excellent place- a straight foward heart and soul
business. The quality to price ratio is remarkable.

Speaking of heart & soul business- I believe some of
the made-on-site breads at the Crecent Moon on Central
Ave NE are made with organic ingredients. If one were
to go there and found that not to be the case, then
just down the block the newly opened Eastside Food
Co-op will surely have something to satisfy along
those lines.
