Many would agree with me that $100 is a lot of money to pay for an
audience with the Mayor.
So....why pay for it, when you can camp outside the place he will be
partying at?
Actually camping out is an exagerration--- one year I had to stand for a
total of about 30 hours on a public sidewalk 'cause camping on it would have
been illegal. (once me and my cohorts figured out the police were not going to
arrest-we did take a little break and sat).
Poor little me--- persons living in homelessness have it a lot harder
than that. Thus my hope that more housed people will join in and take action.
But I digress---- with so much need out there ,spending $100 for
something that should be free (access to our Mayor) and easy (access to our Mayor) is
not my cup of tea.
I am talking about being out there overnight folks.
So, here is my pledge--- I and whover else wishes to spend that time with
me will stand vigil outside the Kaplan's home the night of the fundraiser
hoping to get an interview and maybe even an invite into the party for free!
What I would ask of those who wanted to give $100 to get people living
in homelessness into the party donate that $100 to a shelter-- I recommend you
consider all shelters i.e. those that serve youth, families,adults, etc.
Please let me know if you have done this and also let the Mayor know.
Also, I plan to have my camer person there to film efforts to try to
get filmed interviews with the Mayor, et al.as we stand outside the fundraiser.
Persons experiencing homelessness or formerly homeless will be welcomed
to participate. If an invite is extended to come in to the party...one of
those folks will go in,,,,not me.
No offense meant, but I really am not into rounding up people to take
somewhere. I prefer inviting people to participate.
Any housed folk out there are welcome to join in.
and, since it is illegal in the city of Mpls to panhandle...I promise I
will not ask the rich folks going into the party for spare change. I may ask
for a cup of coffee or cocoa.

Didn't R.T. promise no off year campaign fund raising? Correct me if I am
wrong.
