Thanks to all who gave me feedback. I will not be knocking on their door tomorrow. Will be out there on the park land. ---on another note: From everything I have heard, Mayor Rybak followed a very ethical procedure in his effort to select the next police chief. He went to community people for feedback, the communities often most impacted by police abuse are largely supportive of Mc Manus. I am not sure what more the Mayor could have done. I am heartened that McManus was quoted as talking about the need to respect all of our city's people. Makes me think there is a chance for dialogue about treatment of persons experiencing homelessness. I have e-mailed my city council person Robert Lilligren encouraging him to vote yes for McManus as chief. Hiring for any job is difficult. You never know until the person is doing the job. And, if there are problems then, they need to be addressed. But I see no basis to accuse the Mayor of doing this process wrong. Margaret Hastings-Kingfield-Mpls REMINDERS: 1.
