I think Annie has a good point.

If the meeting notices are run by the government, the forces that want to
sneak stuff thru will subvert it. I understand the Legislature has a good
data base, that could be easily accessible to the public, allowing us to
see at a glance how our legislators vote. I also understand that it is
not public, and may never be so - not if the legislators have their way.
The less we know, the better they like it. All we need to know is, where
to vote, and where to mark the ballot - after that, we're expendable. Of
course there are honorable exceptions - but not enough to change the Keep
'em ignorant policy.

My Progressive Calendar is based on the premise that neither government
nor major media will publish many of the contents. They don't. Not when
it's special interests vs the public.

So both pretty much have to be done privately. The city meeting notice
probably by one or two people, for free. People who are insulated from
being fired for political activity.

So, is there anyone who wants to take on the job? (I have enuf to do).
