Is there any chance the City could put street signs back on Hennepin Avenue?  I walk to work and I’m getting tired of people from out of town rushing to appointments asking me to point out 6th street.  I realize that, to folks that have lived here their entire life, this is a small thing, but not posting signs makes downtown a difficult place to navigate, and therefore an unwelcome place to visit.  I also can’t fathom that putting street signs back up on Hennepin to be expensive.

I think that this is one of those little detail things that can often be an indicator of larger problems.  I’d like to see the signs put back up.  If a city can’t handle something simple like appropriate signage, how can it reasonably be expected to deal with complex issues like crime and housing?

Anyone know of other parts of the city where signage is iffy?
